WEDNESDAY Bicycle Issues Day Jay Ferm, Planet Bike Jay will speak on bicycle advocacy issues. As Advocacy Director for Planet Bike, he will speak to his experiences in promoting bicycles as a mode of transportation, and addressing policy needs in bicycle infrastructure. Jay also is on the Campus Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, and his experiences there are of interest to any bike advocate. Tom Huber, Wisconsin DOT Tom will speak on the state DOT perspective on bicycle issues in Wisconsin. His experience as the Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator at DOT provides insights as to how bicycle infrastructure is financed and managed. He will speak on present and future DOT activities with regards to bike paths and other alternative transportation infrastructure in the State. Room: Tong Auditorium, Engineering Centers Building, 1550 Engineering Drive. Time: 12 - 2 PM Lunch will be provided THURSDAY Bus Rapid Transit Issues Al Danaher,PE, PTOE, AICP, Kittleson & Associates Al will speak on his experiences with Bus Rapid Transit issues and projects in the US. As Senior Principal with Kittleson & Associates, a firm specializing in bus and rail planning and operational studies, he has been part of many leading BRT projects in the country.
