As to the original question of how to get from Odana Road to the path and to the path from Odana Road, here are the options that I have used.
There are bike lanes on Odana east of Whitney Way. Depending on your comfort in traffic, there are a couple of ways to get to the path from Odana and to Odana from the path. Heading westbound on Odana approaching Whitney Way, I get into the center lane which is a combination Left turn/straight through lane. I then turn left with the light into the right lane of Whitney Way. Then one block later, I turn right onto Medical Circle and follow that to the beginning of the path. For those that do not like the left turn in traffic, pedal across Whitney Way in the right lane, stop and wait for a green light to cross Odana, and take the road or sidewalk along Whitney Way to get to Medical Circle. When coming Eastbound on the path and arriving at Medical Circle, I usually turn Left onto Medical Circle and follow it to Odana Road. Then turn Right on Odana Road, and move into the center lane to cross Whitney Way and then proceed on to the bike lane. The other option is to turn right onto Medical Circle, then at Whitney Way take the sidewalk up to Odana. Cross Whitney Way with the walk light, get back out onto Odana, and proceed to the bike lane.
