I can repeat what others said, but with a little more detail.

The West Beltline Bike Path starts at the east end behind the Y, as you
suspect. I commute from near Odana Golf Course, taking a left at Whitney Way on
Odana then a quick right on Medical Circle brings you to the Y and the path.
Alternatively, go straight west on Odana past Whitney to the west end of
Medical Circle and then the path. The only official access points are at the
west end on Grand Canyon Drive, by the Hampton Inn, and then, after going
through the tunnel under the beltline, onto Seybold and Struck streets. Grand
Canyon, going north brings you to Market Square. If you go west, it becomes
West Plate Drive, which brings you about a block from West Towne on Odana, and
sidewalks are a safe way to cross Gammon to the mall. access brings you onto a
surface road. A right on Seybold brings you to Gammon south of the Beltline,
going straight on Struck brings you to Schroeder near Elver Park, and straight
on Struck then right on Watts brings you to Woodman's.

Interestingly, the new Smart Motors on Odana is the only business to build in a
bike ramp and bike parking into their parking lot, so I take it as an
invitation to go through their lot into and out of Tokay Blvd, a way into
Research Park.

Subject: [Bikies] Question: Westowne BIke Path access

this am, my wife rode over to a meeting near Odana and Grand Canyon, and we saw
there is a path along the Beltline, parallel to odana... the West Towne Bike
path. What we were not clear on is where access to the path is. It appears to
start behind the YMCA.

What I'd like to know is where path access is? For example, if one is riding
(perilously) down Odana, where can one first turn off to get on the path? and
where along the path are there access points.

the maps aren't real clear. It's not a path I'd use much (just getting to it
looks like a trick) but in her case this am, it might've been a nice option to
the street
