LOUIS REED RIPON RACE LOUIS REED RIPON TIMETRIAL RACE 18th ANNUAL RUNNING *****
THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A CHARGE AT THE LR RACE **This race is free to all** Louis Reed 10 Mile Time Trial July 2008 When Sunday, July 13, 2007 @ 08:15 AM CST - 10:00AM Event Type Organized Race Where Barlow Park (South City Limit) Ripon, WI In honor of Ripon and the city's bicycle hero of over a century ago, Louis Reed, a time trial bicycle race will be held in Ripon, Sunday July 13, at 8:15 A.M. in Barlow Park (South City Limit). Louis Reed held three state bicycle records during the first national bicycle craze before the automobile in the 1890s and Ripon twice hosted the Wisconsin Championship Races. Our race is ten miles and has proven challenging for all ages. The Louis Reed Time Trial is truly "the race for everybody, young and old, and of all abilities and equipment." A cyclist races only himself against the clock. As in all previous years, there is no charge for the Louis Reed Time Trial and registration is done at the event. All ages are welcome. Sunday, July 13, is also the time for the Ripon community "RiponFest" and so come for the race and stay for the parade. The Time Trial Race will begin at the site of the 1893-94 races and follow a circular course of ten miles along the following roads: County E to Watson Road, then over to Radio Road and back to Barlow Park. If you have never been in a race before, our informal race will give you a new perspective to your training.
