We are attempting to preserve bike/ped detours on campus throughout
construction,
but there is so much construction and it changes on an hourly basis. In part
we rely
on people like yourself reporting when there are problems so we can correct
them.
Construction traffic detours (including bike/ped) carefully planned for every
project,
but they aren't always carried out to the letter of the plan by the contractors
on the ground.
I know that Rob, Matthew, and I do our best to note when things aren't being
done right and to get ahold of the contractor to get it fixed. There is an
unprecedented amount
of construction right now, and we fully recognize that conditions are not ideal
(for anyone), but
we ARE trying to make it work as well as possible for all road users given
limited available land.
As to the Campus Drive Bike Path, it is currently slated to open August 8th,
but the
weather has been a challenge (both last fall and this spring), so it is
possible that
there will be more delays. We're hopeful for August 8th, though...it's in the
home stretch.
