Ann, Its the auto-dependency lobby that is feeling paranoid. They're getting it from all sides. They're trying (and failing) to deny that global warming is real. They're trying (and failing) to convince people that these 'high' gas prices are only temporary. And some city planning people are waking up to the fact that relying on single-occupant-vehicles as your primary system of transportation is very expensive for taxpayers.
