If such an effort was organized in this area, as owner of the local Freecycle group, I would be delighted to encourage member participation in the effort. Not certain what the ratio is, but with a group with over 13 thousand local members on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/madisonfreecycle/ I'd bet that there are more than just a few unloved bikes in area garages that people would be happy to donate.
