Hello all,
Speaking of art and cycling...great connective activities (We'll be using our
bikes soon to navigate the Twin Cities next week for Fringe Fest, Art Museums
and more!) we should as a community consider emulating others who have
"connected" them even further...for example, the Evanston/Skokie border park
along McCormick has what is really becoming an AMAZING sculpture garden along
the bike and pedestrian routes...it's really fantastic if you haven't seen
it...here's a link
http://chicago.citysearch.com/profile/11342906/skokie_il/skokie_northside_sculpture_park.html
There was a nice piece in today's WSJ about arts opportunities for Children in
Madison but it is clear we have a deficit of public art around town...or at
least from my perspective we do...it could be much better.
On a related note...I wonder how many of us Bikies it would take to strap our
bikes up to the "Rotting Footballs" sculpture by the stadium and topple it like
one of the Saddam Statues...I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder...so
sorry if I offend anyone about nails tails....if we had a sculpture garden
system then we could maybe move Nails Tails to that....and have something else
at that marquee corner.
Ride safe!

1. Art Bikes Ride Again! (Ann Maria Bell)
We're taking the art bikes out for a spin to help celebrate the opening of a
new link in Madison's expanding network of bike paths. If you'd like to ride a
groovy art bike in the parade, we'd love to have you. (email me now and get
first choice of the bikes! or call Ann @ 698-3525) Or just decorate your own
bike, or your own self, and ride with the Madison Art Bikes.
The event is on Friday morning. August 8th.
Here's the complete information from the event coordinators:
