Charges against Linda Willsey (the dooring poster child) have been dropped! She asked me thank all of you for your support.
The BFW is currently working with legislators to make dooring illegal in Wisconsin and to put bikes on an equal par with motor vehicles by dropping the 3-foot law when a bike passes a stopped or parked motor vehicle. If Linda had been on a moped she would have never gotten ticketed. We all owe Linda our gratitude for pursuing what was right. She claims it is due to one of their witnesses (either the cop or the driver) claiming that she did not receive the subpoena -- but that is likely just cover. She could have requested a postponement if she thought she had a case. In fact, the tipping point was likely the statement from the witness (who was sitting in the parked car behind the doorer), whodisputed the facts recorded by the responding officer. Justice only took 4 months and a few hundred dollars! Thanks for your help. I'll look forward to the battles in the legislative arena next year.
