Thanks for that thoughtful reply.  There's a lot to chew on.  Cost-benefit 
analyses of these sorts are a good exercise if only to make us broaden our 
views of what the costs and benefits are, exposing current subsidies, and 
coming to terms with the difficulty of comparing apples-to-oranges.  If only 
they could be done for free....
