History has shown that "Ancient Egypt" was the leader in public works project economic stimulation, followed the by possibly F.D. ROOSEVELT --WPA. Both were more long term than one year and yes, one should have concern that public works will not "simulate the economy." At least WPA probably wasn't funding for the engineering companies and contractors with the largest political patronage donations.
