So, until then, scofflaws get a pass, and those of us who are supposed to use 
the lane have no way to notify those tailgating them (can you "tailgate" a 
bicycle?) that they're not supposed to be in the lane? How hard would it have 
been to put temporary signs on weighted posts along the curb, at least 
something you can point to so the guy in the motor-mobile behind you knows why 
you're using the full lane? How hard would it have been to notify those 
affected by it of this, er, lapse?

Would the speed limit signs on E. Wash be left missing for MONTHS?
