I actually had no idea about this rule of listserv etiquette. It strikes me as bizarre -- isn't the whole idea of a listserv to have a group discussion? But I stand corrected on this point and apologize for posting my reply to "Stinkoid." I've tried to make peace with him (in private exchanges, as etiquette demands) and hope I can with you folks, too. I also am deeply sorry I got Jeff Schimpff's name wrong in my initial post. The first rule of journalism is to spell people's names correctly.
