On Feb 5th, Tracy Sorum pled guilty to a third offense of OWI. Sorum
was sentenced to 35 days in Jail starting on 4/4/09, his DOT License was
revoked for 24 months beginning on 2/5/09, and he was ordered to pay
$1471.00 in court costs by 4/6/09.

Unfortunately, Wisconsin has one of the most generous Occupational
License programs in the country, even for 3rd time OWI offenders who
live/work in one of the most bike/bus friendly areas of Wisconsin.
Sorum could be eligible for an occupational license as early as Jun 5th
2009 - about the same time bicycle ridership starts to peak for the
summer. While Sorum's current home address has been scrubbed from his
court records I can tell you his address listed before the scrub was a
few short blocks away from the Winnequah & Midmoor intersection (near
the lake loop) in Monona.
