In the Road Rights blog at Bicycling.com, Bob Mionske takes a hard analytical look at the horrible case of the Toronto politician who killed a bicycle courier with his Saab. One of the perp's first actions was to hire a public relations firm to work on his image. Mionske looks at actions taken by the firm to demonize the cyclist, recast the homocide as an attack by the cyclist on the motorist, and soften the image of the perpetrator. Then he lays out the actual facts of the case, complete with links to relevant videos from security cameras, hosted on YouTube, that clearly show the motorist using his car to initiate the incident by pushing using his car to push the cyclist into the intersection.
