Another thought about "Our senses are our defenses" and the use of headphones, 
cell phones, etc. while bicycling.  I don't wear headphones when bicycling 
because I don't want the distraction of listening to music to take my attention 
away from what I need to be concentrating on - the traffic, road conditions, 
etc. around me.
