Thursday, November 5 (tomorrow) 7:00 PM in Room 201 of the City-County Building. Full County Board will be voting on whether to form an RTA. Forming the RTA now will allow that body to call for a referendum on the 1/2 cent sales tax. It will also allow them to make some decisions as to what would be funded with the sales tax, so that people have an idea what they are voting on. (The RTA area is larger than the city of Madison, but smaller than Dane County, so only a body that represents that area can call a referendum in only that area.) It is very important that supporters come and register (and speak if you wish.) The anti-transit people were caught off guard by the support at last week's committee meeting, but they will be out in force tomorrow. Come to the meeting and fill out a registration form in favor of the RTA. It takes five minutes. If you cannot make it down to the City-County Building, please email or call you County Board Supervisor today, especially if you live outside the Isthmus, and doubly important is you live outside the city of Madison.
