Kathryn et al., Planet Bike has a great marketing device. It's a booklet (given to Planet Bike retailers) containing photos that show what the beam from each of their headlight models looks on a dark road at night. It is a good way to compare the different Planet Bike lights to one another, but unless other companies adopt this as a standard (and then take photos under the same conditions as the Planet Bike ones), it doesn't help for comparisons between manufacturers.
