I was riding along the Capital City Trail this morning, riding at a pretty good
pace since the traction generally very good, when I came across a big patch of
solid ice at a low spot near Garrison St. I was definitely surprised when I
hit the ground (though fortunately I wasn't injured).

It would be nice if the city would put down some sand along that stretch (I
would have done so myself, but I couldn't find a sand barrel); until they do,
bikers without studded tires should probably walk that part of the trail, and
bikers with studs should probably be careful.
