Dear Clint Freund, There are probably actual plans, but adapting what you can find is often much easier than finding the exact item called for in a plan. Twenty years ago I made a set of bicycle rollers for exercising in the winter. I used three "ringer washer" rollers and basic bearing races set in a hardwood low frame on 3/4 inch plywood. It has worked well. But for your purpose, just the rear two rollers could be used with a simple calculation of the circumferential wheel speed on a roller spun by a bike tire at--say ten miles/hour. But build into the frame a automobile alternator and voltage regulator from a junk yard. Any auto repair man should tell you the speed needed for the alternator to kick in (or use a hand held shaft tack on the spinning alternator pulley.) --and simply fit the shaft from the ringer roller with a v-belt pulley needed for those rpms. Of course ringer rollers were easier to get twenty years ago--but some small-town repair which has been in business a long time might still have junk ringers. Obviously you could reach your goal dozens of ways--but with rollers like I have described, you could use a standard bicycle for power and move down to lower gears as necessary since there might be a fair amount of friction.
