There is a very detailed set of instructions in "Human Powered Home" by
Tamara Dean, which is available through our friendly local public
library. There is all kinds of other cool stuff in there too.
I have a few of the parts from her design (most significantly, the
trainer stand and the DC motor - these are the most $$$ly) that I'm not
currently using. Let me know if you could use them.
