Has anyone else had a problem with the new black plastic-coated racks on the
front of the buses? I put my bike on one this morning and when I took it off,
the back tire was completely flat. My guess is that the wells in the newer
style can hold more debris than the ones in the older aluminum racks and
something sitting in there punctured by tire. I couldn't confirm because, by
the time I noticed the flat, the bus was gone.
I suppose a piece of glass could have shot up from the road like a bullet and
punctured the tire. Maybe I need to start covering my bike with a tarp whenever
I put it on the bus ...
Thanks to the number 6 driver who was running just behind my original bus, saw
what happened and stopped to ask if I wanted another ride!
