This is a little-discussed trail that runs north-south on the SW side of Madison and into Verona to hook up with the Military Ridge Trail. it will provide a connection between Elver Park and the Military Ridge. http://www.countyofdane.com/press/details.aspx?id=801 Very exciting, IMHO. Stone base has been installed for the entire trail, a bridge crossing was placed last week south of East Verona Avenue, and much of the landscaping has been completed. This week we are preparing for concrete at the bicycle pedestrian rest stop and asphalt paving has began at the north end off McKee Road. Hopefully if we don't get a lot of rain, paving could be completed by the end of next week. We'll have a few items to finish such as signage and remaining landscaping that won't take long.
