I love the little marsh along the Starkweather creek path - watching it go through the seasons, flood and dry out and host frogs and ducks is a pleasure.   The stretch by the bridge by the golf course isn't nearly so nice since they chopped down most of the trees.  Anyone know what was up with that?  Ash borer?

Governor's Island is always a nice bike destination for east siders looking to do a little recreational riding.

A very nice summer evening ride is the bike path from Shopko Drive to Anderson and Wright. > I haven't used the new bike bridge yet that crosses Aberg (HWY 30) by Washington Manor park. Last time I went under, there was a ton of graffiti, it was as if I was riding through some gang temple. Probably not what you're looking for. Anyways I heard it is all cleaned up under there now. >

I am happy to be partnering with the Bike Fed, the City of Madison, and the > > 20by2020 Initiative <http://20-by-2020.com/> for this event. The ride will serve to showcase a few examples of the "old" (e.g. path and lanes) and "new" (e.g. bike boxes, maps, and bridges) existing as well as up-and-coming (e.g. Regent/Monroe intersection refurb) bike infrastructure and resources that Madison has to offer.

They can be spaces, places, views, amenities, historic facts, mapping/route resources, or favorite stretches of asphalt.
