Do you keep meaining to make it to the Mondays Around Monona rides? Here is the perfect opportunity to commit to one ride.
I am going to be out of town on Monday, Aug 23 and am looking for a guest facilitator for the Mondays Around Monona ride that evening. What I am asking one kind soul to do is: Grab some printed maps from me this week (before I leave on Friday). I can bring them to you. I will also give you a sheet with a few bullet points of what I say to introduce the ride to the group. Then, just show up on Monday, Aug 23 ~6:20pm. You get to ride clockwise around the lake at your leisure. I usually stay at the back of the pack, which is a great opportunity to chat with other riders, work on riding posture, and technique. It's a bit of a challenge to go super slow, but it's also relaxing. The ride is scheduled to start at the intersection of S. Fair Oaks Ave and the Cap City Trail at 6:30pm. I like to show up at 6:20 and push of by 6:35pm. The ride ends at Mickey's Tavern and you can stay for a drink and a bite or just go home. Let me know if you are available and/or interested! Thanks.
