I highly recommend the BOB Yak trailer. It is lightweight, easy to put on and take off, and handles very well. A friend of mine took his on our cross country tour. I've used mine to carry luggage to the airport and would use it over panniers for touring (much more aerodynamic).
You can easily park your bike with the BOB trailer on the back if you are staying with your bike, but the drawback is that it isn't made to come with you, like the Travoy. You can lock it with a cable, and for an extended lock-up, I usually take it off and lock it up next to my bike. If you just want to do around-town chores, then perhaps the Travoy is the way to go.
