my favorite trailer--i've had two (one rusted out), and been using it off and on since 1987--is from blue sky.
http://blueskycyclecarts.com/ they attach to the seatpost, are fairly, although not impossible to tip; versatile in that they can haul both kids (with a seat and double seat belt arrangement) and freight. the most i've ever hauled is about 150 pounds, but they could probably accommodate more than that. don't expect a really quick start, though, hauling that much stuff.
