We're all a aware of what a fiasco the Edgewater has been in terms of public participation and open government. Well, just when we think the shenanigans are over . . . they reached a new height. Remember all that discussion about the Public Access . . . you know, what we are paying the $16M for. Well, tonight's plan commission agenda says they will not be discussing the agreement for how the public space is managed, but, Alder Maniaci and Hammes intend to push to have it discussed tonight. If you think this isn't right, could you stop by the plan commission tonight, register and put a note on there that this should not be discussed without proper notice to the public. Even better, if you could stay and say that, or stay and watch what happens, that would be good. This isn't just about the Edgewater, this is about a new way of doing business in the city, and I really think it stinks! Here's more on the issue: http://www.forwardlookout.com/2010/12/maniaci-screw-the-public/7343/comment-page-1#comment-2629
And, if you can't stop by tonight, here's the emails of the plan commissioners, email them and ask them for delay, as noted on the agenda: Michael Schumacher - [email protected] Lauren Cnare - [email protected] Julia S. Kerr - [email protected] Nancy E. Fey - [email protected] Eric W. Sundquist - [email protected] Judy K. Olson - [email protected] Michael G. Heifetz - [email protected] Judith A. Bowser - [email protected] Michael A. Basford - [email protected] Alternates Tm Gruber - [email protected] Anna V. Andrzejewski - [email protected] Any questions, let me know! Brenda
