Hello Bicyclists - It's very important that DOT hear from bicyclists during
the planning phases of various projects. Even if the bike facilities in a
project are slated to move forward, it's still important that the bicycling
community let DOT know that we support the bicycle improvements. Please

WisDOT: Public meeting set for East Washington Avenue improvement project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and the City of Madison
will hold a public information meeting to discuss improvements to East
Washington Avenue between Thierer Road and East Springs Drive in Madison.
Construction will take place in 2012, 2013 or 2014, depending on
availability of funding.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, December 9, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the
WisDOT Southwest Region office, 2101 Wright Street, Madison. The meeting
will be held in an open-house format with a formal presentation at 7 p.m.

WisDOT and City of Madison representatives will be present to answer
questions. Exhibit boards and handout materials will be available for the
public to review.

The purpose of the project is to replace the deteriorated pavement.
Improvements to the roadway and impacts to traffic during construction will
be discussed.

The meeting site is wheelchair-accessible. People who are deaf or hard of
hearing and who require an interpreter for the meeting should contact the
Jan Bennett via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
