Good winter riding conditions. Plowed flat, with frequent snow-covered and icy spots and stretches that are mostly hardpack and textured ice, so not too bad even without studs. Would still recommend knobby winter tires.
-Unplowed for the short downhill parallel to Clayton Rd. just east of MM and parallel to Gunflint trail at Glacier Valley. Both unplowed sections are easily bypassed by riding short sections of road. -Curb cuts around the MM/McCoy/Hwy 14 intersection are filled with large snowbanks and may require a dismount to get over. -The bridge over the creek on the section of trail parallel to Moorland at Nine Springs E-Way is plowed this year. Hooray! Generally, the trail looks like this: <http://www.flickr.com/photos/mababo/5285573215/> or this: <http://www.flickr.com/photos/mababo/5286170146/> but is sometimes entirely covered: <http://www.flickr.com/photos/mababo/5286170220/> With a slight chance for MG&E trucks: <http://www.flickr.com/photos/mababo/5285573151/> Let's be careful out there...
