As a witness too how the Nice Ride system works in Minneapolis and friend of a
few people on its board I think that the B Cycle program would be an excellent
program here and have a nice market...I've first met the B Cycle group over at
the International Downtown Conference in late '08, rode the bike around the
convention hall alot...sweet ride too! This would be a good addition to Madison
and I'm bummed that they didn't start here back in 09 when they were rolling
out.

Agreed on how its been proposed and quick timed, and completely get how some
might perceive it to be a sensitive political issue with odd timing so shortly
after the junket to Europe and also too the Mayor Fundraiser at the Burke home
in Maple Bluff this fall....once again, another example of how consistently
inconsistent some of our policy leaders have been about budgets, rfp's, timing,
and setting priorities and sticking with them (where's the
action/implementation
of so much of the Platinum Bike plan???)...in light of the handling of Arthur
Ross and so many other mixed signals coming out of City Hall and the Mayor's
office...bits and pieces...but some progress is better than none. We should be
doing better.

Will this make Madison a cooler place? for sure...then go for it!

Will it make us equal to Minneapolis like Mark suggest? well....they still have
the ultimate Wild Card to play...the artist who used to be called the Artist
formerly known as Prince but is now, rightly so again....Prince.  (That and
their recently, and well deserved, #1 Urban City for cycling)

Now how could we get Prince to move here?
