Al and all,

The meeting is at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6101 University Avenue. Ride on the spiffy new Old Middleton Road to the Asbury Path <http://goo.gl/maps/xUha> to get there.

I can't remember Al's other issue, but it's true that the Ped access is not great. You could walk over the bridge, but that's pretty nasty. The bridge is not being replaced as part of the project, hence the continuing deficiency. A shoulder will be striped across the bridge in which one could bike, but it will not be a designated bike lane because it's too narrow. The path is a better choice.

Yes, the underpass is back in the project thanks to a state Safe Routes to School grant.

Hello all:

Another road up for a redo is University Avenue from Segoe Road to Allen
Boulevard. Construction is scheduled for 2012 construction season.

We had a pre-meeting for electeds yesterday. One item I was adamant about
is that there was no provision for pedestrian access along the southern
side of the Avenue from the Old Middleton Road bridge east to Segoe. In
other words, the "no pedestrians allowed" sign on the Department of
Transportation property would persist. Bicycle access through this
corridor would go under and around the bridge, rather than over. It would
be convoluted, but would exist, unlike pedestrian access.

There was another issue which I'm forgetting right now.

And the pedestrian underpass at Spring Harbor appears to be in the plans
now - it was out last year.

The public meeting is set for this Wednesday, March 23, from 6:00 to 8:00;
presentation at 6:30. Location is a church whose name I'm blanking on;
it's out near Allen Boulevard and University Avenue.

Mark Clear was there - Mark... help?

Thanks,

Al Matano
