I <3 this! Can they just repave the 3' closest to the curbs? I guess I *do*
want to be treated better than cars because I ride a bike :-)

Lest we forget...The City of Madison increased its street maintenance
standards in the 1970s because the advent of the higher pressure, narrow
bike tires resulted in safety concerns.  Pavement distress generally begins
in the area closest to the curbs, where bikes travel.  In other words,
pavements have to maintained at a higher standard in order to support all
modes of transport.
