although, I think having that party bike on state street is the way to go!  I 
like the one downtown and one out in a different hood approach too!  and I wish 
we could get beer on that party bike! carb replenishment on board!

Amen. 
I think one RtD event downtown and one in another neighborhood every year is
a great idea. And since most folks conception of "downtown" (and the current
RtD route) encompasses much more than one neighborhood, why not have the one
annual downtown event rotate routes as well?

Why not rotate a route the current route with others that use, e.g. South
Park St, or the Gorham and Johnson couplet (with activities in James Madison
Park), or University Ave adjacent to Campus (yes, all of these suggestions
involve very complicated logistics, but so does using John Nolen and East
Wash, as we have seen).

And when the time comes to rotate back to John Nolen/East Wash, leave State
St out of it.
