There is a report on Channel3000 that shows Madison Police working with kids
in communities, a program to earn bike, lock & helmet if the kids ride with
the police for 21 days. At the end of the report it is said that the
materials are all donated by "the community." Does anybody know who "the
community" is (Madison, Police, private business people, community members)?
I want to use this report to encourage the same kind of work here (Brazil)
but need to know a bit more about the donors - here everybody always expects
"the government" to provide such items. It is not very common for private
business or individual community members to donate in this way.

*Bike Club Helps Foster Community Relationships *
Some Madison school children are bicycling through the fall semester, all
thanks to Madison police officers in the south district. It's a bike club
not only promoting health and fitness, but also making inroads for better
community relationships.
Andy Choi reports.
