AB303, the Smart Growth Opt-out bill is getting a public hearing today,
October 11, at 10:01 am, in from of the Committee on Urban and Local Affairs
in room 300 Northeast.

The proposed legislation allows municipalities to opt-out of their
comprehensive plans. Municipalities are currently required to ensure that
future zoning and other ordinances are consistent with their comprehensive
plans. If this passes, that is no longer required. I went to many
comprehensive plan public hearings to make sure my input was heard on making
Madison better for bicycling. And now some state leggies want to make that
a waste of my (and everyone else who participated) time.
