In my own defense, I'll say that internet etiquette (formerly "netiquette" -- 
heard THAT one lately?) changes by the minute, and varies from list to list.  
This being an "old-fashioned" listserv I probably should have anticipated the 
problem with attachments, still...
Also, the listserv didn't actually reject my post, just set it aside for the 
moderator to approve.  I re-posted to save time.  And because I'm just that 
kind of guy.  ;)
