It looks like this bounced due to the size of the previous post. I think it would be good timing for the mayor to hear from others who use the path regularly.

It's great to hear that you'll be speaking with Mayor Soglin about this and I'm hopeful that he'll be receptive to the concerns and responsive to addressing this long-standing issue. As you mention, the entire stretch of this primary eastside bike commuter and recreational path from Blount to Waubesa is in need of attention. It's such a great asset for our city and especially our eastside neighborhoods and yet we haven't been able to address some very significant usability issues. Safety is clearly a concern, but useability and access (including limited stops and level grade) are also critically important considerations for such an important transportation route. A group of us did meet last week to discuss proposals for addressing the high density of motor vehicle crossings between Dunning and Waubesa and we were planning on bringing a proposal to SASY's transportation commitee next week. Due to the timing of your discussion with the Mayor, I wanted to make sure this could be included in part of that discussion. I'm working on pulling together a summary of the meeting and proposal and can send your way shortly. While this has been a significant concern and frustration for neighbors and path users for years, I'm hopeful we can finally see some action. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to support this work and I know there are many others willing to help as well. There's no question that there are real solutions to these problems and I'm confident we can get there with the city's support. Thanks again for your help!! Grant Foster Anchor Dr
