OK, my two cents then.
I do not favor mandatory helmet laws, just on a civil libertarian basis.
However, whenever I can do it without annoying them, I tell kids the story of
my big crash. I slipped sideways so fast I didn't even get my hands off the
handlebars. My left ear was ringing for two days from the sound of my helmet
hitting the blacktop. The SOUND of it.
My approximate speed at the time? MAYBE 8 mph. Tops.
