I also would point out that including the "bus storage facility" in the
price is a bit of a red herring. Metro has to build a new bus storage
facility anyway, whether they build BRT or not.

And that little piece of the package ain't cheap. I don't know what the
price tag would be with or without BRT, but it's not like we can just sail
along without spending some serious change to keep up Metro. Right now,
Metro is holding off increasing its fleet because they have no place to
store more buses.

Want to know why your bus is so crowded? (And please don't tell me that all
the buses are empty, or that it's only peak hour, because they are jammed
all day and evening on the routes I ride.) Because Metro doesn't have the
rolling stock to meet demand during peak time. BRT buses are bigger and can
hold more riders. They can also be loaded and unloaded faster because of
multiple doors and fare payment off-board.

We need bigger buses as well as a place to store them, so whether we build
a full BRT system or not, we are not going to get away without spending
quite a bit of money to keep the current system working.
