I also appreciate Steve sending me a note privately explaining that sites
further down the hill had been explored (this was all before I was elected)
and ended up being eliminated from consideration mostly because of the
proximity of the wetlands. Everything is a compromise, I suppose, but I tend
to give in to protecting nature, so, had I been in on those discussions, I'd
have likely ended up agreeing that the top of the hill was better for that
reason, even if somewhat less convenient for bikers. And the view will still
be better from there.
