Even as "toys", to my knowledge there's nothing that would make them illegal, any more than skateboards or kick scooters. It's the motorized toys that are illegal.

At one time roller skis came under the category of toys but evolution of the law made roller skiing/blading on roads legal. Rely on Clayton's opinion.

Dave,

It is legal. Looks like City of Madison only bans use in muni parking facilities.Â

I was screamed at by a passing car on Regent just east of Franklin (west side) that roller skiing was 'illegal and dangerous'. Never been told this before. Anyone know the law? I was as close to the right curb as possible, going in the direction of traffic.
