Can you point me to the RENEW blog, press release, or statement about this?
What program allows me to chip in $20/month to put 1.25 kilowatt hours of
new renewable online? That money would be better spent on a Co-Op wind farm
or solar array, but I don't think Wisconsin's laws allow it. I'd love to be
a participant.

I have always felt the PSC approved higher prices for "green" electricity
was a disaster. We don't have the right solar exposure for PVC panels on our
roof. Years ago we "subscribed" anyway to promote the concept and feel
better about flicking on the light switch. But when the PSC recently
approved raising the price of "green" electricity even higher, we dropped
down to the minimum participating level. I've made public written comments
to the PSC when these issues come up, but of course, my voice is drowned out
by the fossil fuel industry's well-connected lobbyists and MG&E gets to
surcharge for "green" power.

In fact, people at RENEW Wisconsin urge people who have the choice, i.e.,
those who don't have solar panels, unsubscribe from MGE's program and
support other similar programs that actually do support renewable energy.
