Due to increased funding to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation
(DOT) for highway projects, several projects are now moving forward in the
Madison area including the long-shelved Highway 51/Stoughton Road expansion
project from Voges Road (McFarland) to Deforest.

DOT will be presenting three alternatives they are looking at, varying from
$200-$810 million in cost, at the request of the SASY Neighborhood
Association. Alternatives include a full freeway build out. Come hear a
presentation followed by Q&A, walk around to look at 3D models of the
alternatives, ask questions of DOT staff and voice your comments before the
draft Environmental Impact Statement is written next month. Bring your
curiosity, questions and comments. The purpose of the presentation is to
gather public input.
