Dear Friends: I'm writing to invite you to the 2014 BikeDane meeting I'm hosting on Tuesday, May 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Lussier Family Heritage Center at Lake Farm Park. Your important input at last year's meeting and throughout the year resulted in a number of exciting biking projects in my 2014 county budget. Your continued participation and recommendations is crucial to helping us be a more bike-friendly community. Our strong partnership efforts to improve our biking infrastructure will continue to grow the significant economic, health and recreational benefits that biking creates for Dane County residents. It's time for us to once again meet this Spring and discuss 2014 bicycle-related budget items and upcoming projects. I want to hear your valuable feedback and ideas that will move us closer to our long-term goal of a bicycle pedestrian trail system that connects the majority of our communities to county park facilities and other regional trails. I'd also like to hear your recommendations for improving on-road biking as part of our Dane County Parks effort working in partnership with our Highway Department to identify opportunities for bike lanes on county roads that serves both commuter and recreation needs.
