Agree with Mike. "Alleged." This is so far based upon news
reports, and we all know how authoritative those are. Legally,
there's no "confession" to any crime. Just an excuse. It's murky and
very suspicious. Why the delay? Unanswered in the news reports is
whether drugs, alcohol, pot, etc., is a factor, or whether there was
any suspicion or testing. Time and the proceedings will tell.
Meantime, it's important to keep focusing on this, keep it in the
public awareness and force the DA to elaborate. If the DA's office is
the problem, then there's where the pressure needs to be applied.
