At least, it looks that way. http://host.madison.com/ct/news/local/writers/steven_elbow/lower-yahara-trail-funding-safe/article_5719be44-f360-52a4-9ae2-37fdc72419d8.html
This will be a huge improvement in the bicycle transportation and recreation network in Dane County. For many people, getting from downtown to McFarland, or anywhere on the east side of Lake Waubesa, is either unpleasant or unsafe. Yes, there is a path along Hwy 51/Stoughton Rd that takes you under the Beltline, but many people are simply not comfortable riding across highway entrance/exit ramps and along 51 and Broadway. In addition, this will significantly shorten the distance one needs to ride to get between downtown and McFarland. I predict both a significant increase in bike commuters to downtown and campus and many more recreational riders frequenting the restaurants and other attractions of McFarland.
