All state trails, like the Military Ridge, Elroy-Sparta, Badger Trail,
Glacial Drumlin, 400, etc are technically part of the state park system.
Now Walker wants to make the parks self-supporting.

Obviously, this will also impact mountain biking, fat biking, and camping,
and all other activities we enjoy in the parks.

Does Walker have any idea how important healthy and attractive parks are to
the economy of many communities? I once asked a small grocery store off the
Red Cedar River Trail (between Menomonie and the Chippewa River) how much
of their business came from the trail. They said in season, about 30
percent!
