Robbie, point is, Walker and his rubber stamping legislature don't care
nor are they accountable. The legislature has made it clear that they
will rubber stamp 93-94% of his requests. These folks are extreme Tea
Party Ideologists who will carry out Grover Norquist's pledge to stave
the beast and Walker needs to become the Super ALEC poster boy. Most of
us invested lots of time, money and effort trying to defeat this SOB and
his minions. They are carrying out both an ideology and a vendetta. They
could care less what any of us think and frankly it is much worse than
that. SO, yes we can all write letters, attend hearings, etc. etc. and
they all privately laugh their asses off. They are all soldiers for a
right wing agenda and many don't care if they lose the next election as
a result of carrying out this agenda. I'm mostly relating what I hear
from right wingers I happen to know who are party loyalists and
activists. These are scary times and this Republican Party will not be
stopped overwhelming public opposition because frankly we're dealing
with folks who have a foot soldier's mentality and are willing to
sacrifice their future political aspirations for wholesale enactment of
a very broad, "shrink government so that it fits into a bath tub"
agenda. Believe me all of these truly evil people love to watch
progressives and liberals squirm and weep. Bottom line is we're screwed
until we can elect different majorities and that day will not be any
time soon given the redistricting that has occurred.

Obviously, this will also impact mountain biking, fat biking, and
camping, and all other activities we enjoy in the parks.
Does Walker have any idea how important healthy and attractive parks
are to the economy of many communities? I once asked a small grocery
store off the Red Cedar River Trail (between Menomonie and the
Chippewa River) how much of their business came from the trail. They
said in season, about 30 percent!
