Friday was a great day for me. I had sent in a pothole report form and asked
the city to fix the multiple pot holes that have formed on southbound Gammon
Road from Schroeder to New Washburn Way. This is tough section for me -
narrow, lots of high speed traffic and the road is in rough condition. In the
past, my request had been turned down and I had to ask for help from my Alder
to address this recurring problem. This year it was fixed within one day of
submitting my form. I'm very pleased and want to publically thank the roads
crew for their considerate, prompt and effective response. The second good
news is that reconstruction of the intersection between Eau Claire, Old
Middleton and the Blackhawk Trail is in high gear. This has taken a lot of
hard work and will make a difference for those of us who use this intersection.
Thanks especially to Tony Fernandez, who not only pushed this project; but
showed a genuine interest in working with users to implement the most effe
ctive design within the constraints of the available budget.

Thanks to all involved for listening and making my commute (and others) more
pleasant and especially safer.
